Homestay Congress 3rd Edition 2022

On February 9, 2022, the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar, successfully concluded a three-day training program focused on the basic needs of homestays for sustainable tourism. The event saw active participation and guidance from notable figures including Mrs. Bengia Mana Sonam, Deputy Director of Tourism, Mr. Dikchi Raji, District Tourism Officer of Ziro, Ms. Danyi Mamung, Tourism Informatic Officer of Itanagar, and Mr. Raj Basu, Adviser for Tourism and Homestays. Mr. S.S. Kar, Incharge of the State Food Craft Institute, and Mr. Oshan Lepcha, Coordinator for the Association for Conservation & Tourism, also contributed significantly. The program was attended by progressive homestay owners from Ziro Valley and 33 trainee participants from the districts of Papum Pare, Kra Daadi, Lower Subansiri, Kamle, and Upper Subansiri. This training aimed to equip homestay operators with essential skills and knowledge to promote sustainable tourism, ensuring high-quality experiences for visitors while preserving the local environment and culture.
